Born in 1956 in Yamagata Prefecture.
He majored in industrial design at a vocational school in Tokyo.
When he was 21 years old, he was shocked by a chair he saw at an exhibition, which led him to make furniture his career.
He worked as product development at a furniture manufacturer for 13 years and became independent in 1996.
Established Suzuki Design Office in 1996. He started his career as a furniture designer.
