In 2021, FUJI FURNITURE introduced the “Oka” and “Owl” series to our lineup, alongside the indispensable “Koti” series. In 2022, we are breathing new life into these collections with the release of additional items.
As our environment evolves, so too does our approach to interacting with others and reflecting on ourselves. We find ourselves spending more time considering our future. As we rethink our surroundings, we also contemplate how we want to spend our time at home, and it seems our ideal vision for the future shifts accordingly. Home is a space that consistently welcomes us, and the furniture within it adds color to our lives. The journey of discovering our favorite pieces, expanding our imagination, and gradually creating our ideal interior space brings joy to our daily lives.
We offer furniture that fulfills the aspiration: “This is how I want to spend my day-to-day.
Launched as a new brand in 2021, the Oka series expands in 2022 with the addition of new pieces that further enrich its collection.
The Oka series draws inspiration from the Japanese word for hill (oka). Hills, which are lower than mountains and represent small, elevated areas, evoke a sense of comfort—close enough to overlook the city while enjoying nature and scenic strolls. This concept has been thoughtfully translated into the design of the furniture.
Just as people on a hill enjoy their activities at a comfortable distance from one another, the Oka series creates space for each family member to engage in their personal interests, whether it’s reading, listening to music, or studying, all within the living room. It offers a variety of items that can be configured to suit the unique shape and lifestyle of your family.

By carefully selecting the cushion materials and upholstery, we’ve crafted a gentle curve that evokes the soft, rolling form of a hill. Piping along the edges accentuates the soft lines of the cushions.
To ensure a seamless fit, the sides and back sections of the sofas and shelves are finished with straight edges, offering a satisfying alignment that makes rearranging your layout both easy and enjoyable.

When arranged in a 2400mm-wide space, you can opt for three 820mm single-seaters or reduce the number of connections by pairing two 1220mm wide sofas. After working for an interior design company, he established MIKIYA KOBAYASHI INC.

‘Owl,’ or fukurou in Japanese, symbolizes good fortune across cultures. Revered as a sacred bird in Greek and Roman mythology and honored as a divine spirit (kamui) in Ainu tradition, the owl brings a sense of mystique and reverence.

At the age of 21, he was profoundly impacted by a chair he saw at an exhibition, which inspired him to pursue a lifelong career in furniture design. After spending 13 years in product development at a furniture manufacturer, he became independent in 1996. That same year, he established the Suzuki Design Office and began his career in earnest as a furniture designer.

Souffle has a soft velvet-like texture that you’ll want to keep touching forever. The long fibers provide a deep, rich, and elegant feel. It offers good air permeability which prevents stiffness and keeps it comfortable even in summer. It is also washable, which makes for easy maintenance at home.

Using the tannins found in plant extracts, we tan raw cowhide to create Nume leather, a material finished without surface processing like embossing. Since its initial release in 2021, we’ve received a great deal of anticipation and requests from our customers, prompting us to spend a year refining the product. In 2022, we reintroduce it with the addition of a black variant.
All materials undergo changes over time, adding a unique character to look forward to when combined with furniture. However, Nume leather is unique in that it not only evolves on its own but also transforms in ways that no one can predict, adapting to the user’s environment and lifestyle. This leather, which ages alongside you and breathes together with you throughout your daily life, continuously nurtures the affection users feel for their furniture.

The fibers are tightly woven, so the leather may feel somewhat stiff at first, but with use, the fibers gradually loosen and the material becomes softer, conforming to your skin. Over time, exposure to sunlight and the absorption of natural oils from your hands will cause the leather to develop a richer, deeper color. Additionally, the fats within the leather rise to the surface due to sunlight or friction, giving it a subtle sheen. However, because it has minimal coating, the leather is prone to scratches and color variations, reflecting its delicate nature.
The natural scars, veins, and pores in the cowhide are clear indicators of genuine leather. The one-of-a-kind character of each piece of leather deepens the user’s affection for it, fulfilling a desire for authenticity.
