When you hear the word “Oakland Hills,” the first thing that comes to mind is the winding roads and natural landscape that suddenly appear not far from the city center. The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “Oakland Hills” is the winding streets and lush natural landscape that suddenly appear not far from the city center. Located just off Highway 13, the area is one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s most desirable places to live.
Industrial-style restaurants line the streets, and free and sometimes unconventional hipsters brew coffee for you. It is a 15-minute drive from the downtown area. Surrounded by tall redwoods, the town is somewhat relaxing and attracts a variety of people.
Perhaps it was inevitable that FUJI FURNITURE’s furniture would blend in with this town that desires harmony with nature as well as the development of diverse values.
2019. A house in the Oakland Hills has been reborn. We were part of the interior design project team that created an interior that offers a sense of calm and peace that we often forget in our modern lives.
The concept is “Scandinavian lodge”. The interior is bright, modern, and in harmony with the surrounding nature.
The furniture in the living room is made of beech wood, which is characterized by its soft grain and fine texture. The Koti dining set has simple, graceful lines that stand out against the soft white fabric. The Koti dining set has simple and graceful lines that are accentuated by the soft white fabric, providing a comfortable seating experience while still allowing the beauty of the design to shine through.
On the other hand, the furniture in the media room is made of walnut wood, which is characterized by its fluid and beautiful grain and deep color, giving it a gorgeous yet deep hue. The mid-century modern furniture creates a serene space while the beauty of the particular details shines through.

ーWhat is your favorite piece of furniture?
We have several favorite pieces of furniture, each for different reasons, but the Koti dining set is special to us. We love to have friends and family over for dinner and this is where we gather. It’s a special place where we can enjoy the time we get to spend with the people we love. The chairs are ergonomically designed to follow the line of your back, giving you a comfortable sitting experience.
ーAbout FUJI FURNITURE’s selection
The bright color scheme, which initially bothered me, has become my favorite in my life. The natural light coming through the windows combined with the furniture brings a warm feeling.
The Aura tables and sideboards have a very beautiful walnut color that makes me feel comfortable and relaxed.
ーWhat is your favorite place?
The media room. I spend a lot of time there, watching movies and my favorite shows. I love the Aura living room table and sideboard in this room. The sideboard comes in handy to keep the tabletop clutter-free and stored.
ーWhat is your favorite moment?
Sitting at PERCHE and nico, drinking wine with friends. And I love when I’m having dinner with my family and friends at Koti.
