Located in Itano Town, Tokushima Prefecture, “Asutamu-Land” is a large park facility designed around the concept of water, greenery, and light. We had the honor of participating in the 20th-anniversary project to establish the “Tokushima Wooden Toy Museum” and renovate the adjacent restaurant, “Kutsurogi Pavilion.”
The toys and playground equipment in the museum are themed around famous landmarks and traditions of Tokushima Prefecture, allowing visitors to learn about the culture of Tokushima as they explore. It’s a captivating space that can be enjoyed by all generations.
Upon entering the Toy Museum, you are surrounded by the scent of wood, as local timber is used abundantly throughout the space—from the playground equipment to the flooring and furnishings. Visitors can fully experience the charm of wood through all five senses.
At the heart of the museum is a large playground, named “Satoyama Plaza,” which represents Tokushima’s iconic Mount Bizan and the Yoshino River, the largest river in Shikoku. We created 50,000 wooden eggs that form the shape of this river.
In addition, we were involved in the production of a wide variety of other pieces, such as spinning top-shaped tables placed in a small cabin designed after the streets of Udatsu, tables and chairs in the workshop room, diaper-changing tables and benches in the nursing room, and more.

Adjacent to the Toy Museum, the Kutsurogi Pavilion features a restaurant and shop. The facility was renovated in celebration of the park’s 20th anniversary.
We provided tables and chairs made from locally sourced cedar wood, in addition to sign plates and other items. The metal legs of the chairs and the abacus-shaped partition were painted in four theme colors, inspired by Tokushima’s local specialties, transforming the space into one where children and parents alike can enjoy their time visually as well.
